Data Spaces for Effective and Trusted
Read more about i4Trust experiments here.
A collaborative initiative boosting the development of innovative services around new data value chains in multiple sectors. The iSHARE Foundation together with FIWARE and Funding Box have formed a partnership with the main goal to boost the development of innovative services around new data value chains.
i4Trust is building a sustainable ecosystem where companies will be able to create innovative services by means of breaking “data silos” through sharing, re-using and trading of data assets.
We achieve this by providing the right tools, education, coaching and initial funding for the creation of Data Spaces enabling trustworthy and effective data sharing. 32 Bottom-Up Experiments involving at least 150 SMEs and 32 Digital Innovation Hubs will contribute to the digital transformation of industrial value chains across multiple domains such as Smart Cities, Smart Mobility, Smart Manufacturing, Smart AgriFood, Smart Energy, Smart Water, Smart Health and Smart Logistics.
The project started in October 2020 and runs until October 2023. Phase IV starts in January 2022.
Phase I – i4Trust foundation for Data Spaces
Phase II – i4Trust Community supported by a network of collaborating DIHs
Phase III – Outreach actions and selection of innovative Bottom-up Experiments
Phase IV – i4Trust Data Sharing mentoring programme
Selected experiments will be part of an exclusive 9-months mentorship programme with tailored services, which includes:
- Financial support up to €120,000.00 per each experiment
- Support on Use-Case definition.
- Mentoring support from a pool of mentors in iSHARE Scheme, FIWARE Technologies and Fundraising.
- Support on legal, operational, technical and business.
The objective is to guide the experiments in the implementation of use cases for Data Sharing by using the standard-based open source framework i4Trust provides.
Phase V – Sustainability
This phase will pay attention to pave the way for the sustainability of the i4Trust Community and the outcomes of the experiments beyond the project.
A Data Sharing Playbook will be produced with practical resources that will guide newcomers (DIHs, SMEs and other kinds of organisations) in adopting CEF-compatible iSHARE and FIWARE Building Blocks for Data Sharing. Besides, a set of recommendations for policymakers will be produced, based on the lessons learnt regarding Data Sharing under the initiative.
i4Trust has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Grant Agreement no 951975.
