Mobility
The mobility industry needs to adopt data-driven approaches to optimise processes and improve customers’ supply chains. The industry faces challenges due to fragmented infrastructure, limiting opportunities for cross-collaboration and process optimisation across the supply chain. Personal data usage should be monitored and controlled, and there is a need for better utilisation of data in improving Mobility as a Service (MaaS).
The Common European Mobility Data Space (EMDS) aligns leading reference architectures like IDSA, Gaia-X, the iSHARE Trust Framework, and the DSSC Blueprint. With a strong reference guideline, EMDS meets the unique requirements of international mobility supply chains and transportation networks. EMDS leverages the EU Data Strategy to develop mobility and logistics data spaces as part of a federation of sectoral data spaces. DeployEMDS supports policy-making by enabling data sharing and reuse for efficient multimodal mobility and traffic management.
The iSHARE Foundation has been a strong collaborator in EMDS, providing strong inputs on data space governance and aligning the initiative towards data sovereignty principles with a focus on data owners. Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI) uses the iSHARE Trust Framework to materialise its principles on zero trust in the data ecosystem, reducing the adoption costs for organisations to join data spaces and empowering data owners. SecuShare leverages the iSHARE data-sharing protocol for secure, compliant, and real-time data access and sharing. The iSHARE Foundation is committed to optimising operations and fostering collaboration in the mobility sector.
