Organisational Data Maturity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brazilian organisations are still at an early stage of data maturity, which highlights a strong opportunity for data sharing. Only around 12% of companies<\/strong> operate at an advanced level of analytics and data usage, and just 13%<\/strong> have a truly data-driven culture<\/strong>. At the same time, the data governance market is forecast to grow at a 14.9% CAGR (2025\u20132035)<\/strong>, signalling rising demand for structured, trustworthy data practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government Data Policy & Coordination<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the public side, Brazil is taking decisive steps to improve data sharing. In 2025<\/strong>, a 100% new Federal Data Governance Policy consultation<\/strong> was launched, marking a national alignment process for data governance and interoperability. The policy mandates the appointment of Data Executive roles in all federal agencies within 60 days<\/strong> of adoption, strengthening accountability and coordination across government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Data & Visualisation at Scale<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brazil already operates large-scale data infrastructure. DataViva<\/strong><\/a> enables 100 million+ potential visualisations<\/strong>, covering economic, trade and labour data nationwide. The platform integrates data from eight applications and dozens of official sources<\/strong>, demonstrating the value of combining datasets to generate insights for policy makers, businesses and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data Spaces & Trusted Data Sharing<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Data spaces are emerging as a practical next step. Brazil now has one official IDSA Competence Centre<\/strong>, led by Instituto ELDORADO <\/a>in Campinas<\/strong>, which supports knowledge sharing, training and data space development in Portuguese. This initiative provides a foundation for interoperable, sovereign and trust-based data sharing across sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turning Data into Value<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By combining policy momentum, growing market demand and data space initiatives, Brazil is well positioned to move from fragmented data use to collaborative value creation \u2014 enabling innovation, efficiency and trust across the data economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
