News
Rajiv's appointment is set to enhance the implementation of critical data-sharing standards within the Eclipse Ecosystem.

iSHARE Foundation proudly announces the election of Rajiv Rajani as the Chair of the Specification Committee as part of the Eclipse Foundation Specification Process (EFSP). In this role, Rajiv will lead efforts to keep alignment across all specification projects related to data spaces which are associated with the Eclipse Foundation Dataspace Working Group.

The Specification Committee implements the Eclipse Foundation Specification Process (EFSP) across all relevant specification projects, ensuring that each initiative aligns with the standards set for data space interoperability. This involves evaluating proposed projects, determining their suitability for the Eclipse Dataspace Working Group, and ensuring their compliance with the criteria necessary for specification development. The resulting specifications serve as foundational components for building compliant open-source components, essential for fostering consistent and effective data-sharing practices. Rajiv’s technical expertise and extensive leadership experience equip him to lead these efforts and drive the committee to excellence in his capacity.

Commenting on his appointment, Rajiv said “Eclipse Dataspace Specification Committee is bringing together the leading initiatives, industries and technologies to drive interoperable data space protocols and specifications which should lead to a flourishing of interoperable data spaces, an environment where organisations can discover, trust, share and control their data while unlocking the new data-driven opportunities. Undeniably, being a community under the Eclipse Foundation governance process, the results are by the community, for the community and of the community.”
With Rajiv Rajani taking on responsibilities both as CTO of the iSHARE Foundation and Chair of the Specification Committee, iSHARE aims to align its objectives with the EFSP. His leadership is expected to bridge efforts between iSHARE and Eclipse, fostering standardisation and interoperability that enhances the broader data-sharing ecosystem.

Moving forward, Rajiv Rajani will focus on driving greater collaboration among working groups, enhancing operational efficiency, and exploring new opportunities for standardisation and specification development as the Chair of the Specification Committee.
