iSHARE joins the Green Deal Data Space
iSHARE is elated to announce its participation in the Green Deal Data Space, a major European initiative aimed at fostering secure, cross-sectoral data sharing for sustainability. It enables industries to work together, exchange valuable information, and innovate in ways that support sustainability, tackle climate change, and boost the circular economy. This collaboration not only makes environmental data more accessible but also helps everyone, from businesses to governments, make smarter decisions for a greener and climate-neutral Europe.
The Green Deal Data Space was launched to address major challenges hindering Europe’s green transformation, particularly fragmented data systems and the need for better integration across sectors. These gaps limited effective climate action and slowed progress toward sustainability. The Data Space aims to make environmental data more accessible and interoperable, supporting the ambitious objectives of the European Green Deal—like achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and enhancing biodiversity. By fostering better data collaboration, it helps industries innovate sustainably, contributing to the EU’s targets under the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.
iSHARE’s accession to the Green Deal Data Space is motivated by its core mission to lower barriers for data sharing and enhance collaboration across organisations. By promoting cross-sectoral data sharing, iSHARE helps break down data silos, making crucial information accessible for implementing sustainable practices more effectively. This easy access to shared data not only enhances collaboration but also supports industries in reducing their carbon footprint, directly contributing to the environmental goals of the European Union.
Building on the successful collaboration with RVO, where the iSHARE Trust Framework was adopted to enhance data-sharing capabilities for sustainability projects, iSHAREs participation in the Green Deal Data Space showcases iSHAREs growing role in supporting green initiatives through secure and efficient data exchange and expanding the horizons within the green sector, helping more industries leverage data for sustainable growth. This move strengthens its commitment to enabling smarter collaboration and contributing to Europe’s environmental and economic transformation.
This collaboration will primarily benefit sectors like energy, agriculture, mobility, and manufacturing while also having significant impact on the other relevant sectors. These industries will be able to use shared data to make smarter, more sustainable decisions leading to more efficient operations and reduced environmental impact. As the data-sharing landscape evolves, iSHAREs role will expand, setting the foundation for a more connected Europe that maximises resource efficiency while reducing environmental impact. We’re excited to be part of this movement and look forward to continuing our journey towards a greener, more data-driven future for Europe.
