DOME - A Distributed Open Marketplace for Europe Cloud and Edge Services
Behind the DOME
14 of the 27 EU Member States have identified cloud computing as a central component of their industrial or digital strategies. Organizations in regulated markets (energy, utilities, healthcare etc.) would like to move on the cloud. These sectors also come with specific requirements in terms of physical and cyber security, as well as data localization for which they struggle to find matches in traditional cloud offerings.
Objective
The objective is to provide consumers with a single source of information that helps them find services that match their needs. This aggregation of supply (and by consequence, of demand) is the core and most basic value that a marketplace can offer.
DOME will materialize the envisioned online marketplace, providing the means for accessing trusted services, notably cloud and edge services, building blocks deployed under the Common Services Platform and more generally any software and data processing services developed under EU programs such as the Digital Europe Program, Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe.
DOME will provide the finishing touch to the technical building that the Digital Europe Program is creating for boosting the development and adoption of trusted Cloud and Edge services in Europe.
iSHARE involvement in this program is to realize a trusted and data sovereign structure.
