Public Administration
Public Administration Data comes from various sources, such as IoT devices, hospital records, and administrative procedures. Fragmentation of data across different sources and formats complicates integration and interoperability. Transparency is another key aspect since interoperability policies must address data protection and privacy issues.
The Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS) connects European databases, including TED data on public procurement and national procurement data sets available on national portals. The PPDS consists of layers such as data sources forming a federated network, integration to create a harmonised data set, analytics to generate new insights for data-driven decisions, and a client layer providing a user-friendly interface. Another initiative, the Once Only Technical System (OOTS), is the first EU-wide cross-sectoral and cross-domain data space for secure government-to-government data exchange.
The iSHARE Foundation provides a robust Framework for secure and efficient data sharing to overcome key challenges such as data fragmentation, transparency, and customisation of digital solutions. The Trust Framework supports the development of customisable end-to-end digital solutions to meet the specific needs of public sector entities. This enhances data management efficiency and ensures compliance with existing and future legislation on digital rights and data governance. As a result, government organisations can improve their digital maturity by making data-driven decisions that improve public services and operational transparency.
